About Advance Provision

Choix provides people access to abortion pills (mifepristone and misoprostol) for future use — before people are pregnant.

We believe in the power of planning ahead and being prepared for the unexpected. Advance provision is a way for people to get abortion pills ahead of time in case they need them in the future.

How it works

The process for Advance Provision of abortion pills is almost identical to accessing pills if you were pregnant and wanted medication abortion pills at that time.

  • Submit this 5-minute questionnaire.
  • Within 48 hours, we will review your medical history, and a provider will check in with you via text to confirm information and share consent forms.
  • If no additional steps are required, medications will arrive within 3-5 days.
  • Should you become pregnant and wish to use the pills in the future, ongoing confidential, supportive, and expert abortion care from Choix providers is included in the Advance Provision service.
  • Choix currently serves patients in California, Colorado, Illinois, New Mexico, Maine & Virginia.

$289 for all you need - including future care.

All abortion care services with Choix are $289. This cost includes everything you need – including the abortion medications, clinical care, and shipping.

For people using Choix’s Advance Provision service, should you become pregnant in the future and decide you would like to use the pills, our clinicians will be ready to support you in providing care. There is no additional charge for care beyond the initial fee for Advance Provision.

  • California, Illinois, Maine & New Mexico: You must be 15 years of age or older.
  • Colorado & Virginia: You must be 15-17 with parental notification (CO) / parental consent (VA), 18+ for care without.
